A Simple Reflection

It’s another week building the backend for the GivingTree Map platform. Another one!

While I’m building the backend, I just need to pour as much time as I possibly can, every day, into every detail, until it’s right — or right enough for Beta.

This week’s post will be a simple reflection. Maybe next week and the week after that will follow suit. We’ll see.

Now, writing off-the-cuff-ish can have some benefits.

The first is the chance to attain the prized quality of authenticity. I have little to prove at the moment (I will later!), so there may be an added air of honesty and humanity in my words. At least I think so. I hope so. If you smell a whiff of BS in what I’m saying, please say so in the comments.

Another is that there is a certain wisdom that can emerge when you’re not trying too hard, that cannot be achieved through greater effort. It’s not my wisdom, to be sure. It’s just a wisdom that falls out of the moment like leaves falling to the ground.

Anyway. Though I’m in this back-end build phase, I will stay above ground. I will post every week—to stay in rhythm, accountable, with my public-facing muscle memory sharp.

When I make it out of the backend-build phase, public-facing content will be the thing, the exciting challenge.

Then these posts won’t be like leaves falling to the ground. They will be like leaves shooting out of a cannon, strategically, with specific targets.

I’m excited for that. Just writing these words gets my heart pumping harder.
